La presente investigación se realizó en la finca San Francisco Miramar, municipio de Colomba, Quetzaltenango, con el objetivo de determinar la fenología, la distribución radicular y las características edafológicas y climáticas del cultivo de cardamomo (Elettaria cardamomum), así como identificar posibles limitaciones nutricionales. La metodología comprendió evaluaciones fenológicas y radiculares en 106 macollas seleccionadas aleatoriamente, análisis físicos y químicos del suelo, análisis foliares y el registro de variables climáticas. Los resultados evidenciaron diferencias fenológicas entre las regiones norte y sur de Guatemala, concentración de raíces entre 43 y 96 cm de profundidad, condiciones edafoclimáticas favorables para el cultivo y deficiencias de potasio y fósforo que podrían limitar su desarrollo y productividad. |
