La presente investigación se realizó en el campo experimental de Cuyuta, municipio de Masagua, Escuintla, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de diferentes niveles y épocas de defoliación sobre el rendimiento y crecimiento del cultivo de soya. La metodología consistió en un diseño experimental de bloques al azar con arreglo factorial 3 × 4, aplicando defoliaciones artificiales de 25 %, 50 % y 75 % del follaje a los 15, 25, 50 y 80 días después de la siembra, además de un testigo absoluto. Los resultados indicaron que la defoliación inducida no afectó significativamente el rendimiento ni la altura de las plantas. Asimismo, no se observaron diferencias significativas en número de vainas por planta, peso de 100 semillas, altura ni peso de vainas. El análisis económico evidenció ausencia de diferencias significativas entre el testigo y los tratamientos de hasta 75 % de defoliación en todas las épocas evaluadas. |
