La presente investigación se realizó en las principales zonas paperas de los departamentos de Quetzaltenango, San Marcos, Totonicapán y Sololá, con el objetivo de evaluar la aceptación de la bodega rústica para almacenamiento de semilla de papa promovida por el Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología Agrícolas (ICTA). La metodología consistió en la instalación de 20 bodegas rústicas en fincas de agricultores colaboradores y la aplicación de entrevistas personales estructuradas posteriores a la cosecha, utilizando semilla almacenada bajo esta tecnología. La información obtenida fue tabulada y analizada mediante cuadros descriptivos. Los resultados evidenciaron una alta aceptación de la bodega rústica y de las prácticas recomendadas para el manejo de la semilla, tanto en agricultores con experiencia como sin ella. Asimismo, se registraron menores pérdidas durante el almacenamiento en comparación con el sistema tradicional y mejores características fisiológicas de los tubérculos destinados a semilla. |
