La presente investigación se realizó en nueve municipios del departamento de Chiquimula, donde se evaluó el potencial de rendimiento, comportamiento agronómico y adaptabilidad de diez materiales de maíz generados por el ICTA y dos testigos comerciales, mediante un diseño de bloques al azar durante 1982 bajo condiciones de precipitación escasa y distribución errática. Se analizaron variables de rendimiento, precocidad, altura de planta y mazorca, así como estabilidad productiva. Los resultados mostraron rendimientos entre 1.56 y 2.19 TM/ha; las variedades precoces B-11 y B-15 presentaron mayor estabilidad y productividad, superando al criollo Arriquín y al híbrido comercial H-3. |
