La presente investigación se realizó en la Finca Chocolá, Suchitepéquez, con el objetivo de caracterizar 11 cultivares de bambú mediante la evaluación de variables morfológicas. La metodología consistió en la observación y medición de características vegetativas como longitud y diámetro de entrenudos, grosor de pared, altura del tallo, ramificación, morfología foliar y tipo de rizoma. Los resultados evidenciaron variabilidad entre cultivares en la mayoría de variables evaluadas, mientras que rasgos como pubescencia foliar, coloración, venación y presencia de espinas mostraron estabilidad. Se identificaron especies de los géneros Bambusa, Melocanna, Gigantochloa y Phyllostachys, predominando el uso de caracteres vegetativos. |
