La presente investigación se realizó en la cuenca del río Grande de Zacapa, con el objetivo de efectuar su caracterización preliminar. Se empleó una metodología descriptiva y analítica basada en la recopilación de información de campo y fuentes secundarias, considerando variables hidrológicas, climáticas, edáficas, geomorfológicas y de uso de la tierra. Los resultados evidenciaron que la cuenca presentó condiciones heterogéneas en sus componentes biofísicos, con variabilidad en disponibilidad hídrica, tipos de suelo y cobertura vegetal, así como presiones derivadas del uso antrópico que influyeron en su dinámica y funcionalidad ambiental. |
