La presente investigación se realizó en el valle de La Fragua, Zacapa, con el objetivo de determinar la duración del ciclo biológico y la dinámica poblacional del picudo del chile (Anthonomus eugenii Cano) en el cultivo de Capsicum sp. La metodología incluyó estudios en laboratorio para evaluar las etapas del ciclo biológico bajo condiciones controladas, y muestreos de campo cada 48 horas en una parcela experimental sin manejo químico, con análisis de regresión y correlación. Los resultados evidenciaron un ciclo biológico de aproximadamente 37 días y un crecimiento poblacional de tipo cuadrático, con alta infestación y daño progresivo en frutos, alcanzando niveles significativos de afectación. |
