La investigación se realizó en Guatemala por el Centro de Investigaciones de Ingeniería (CII) de la Facultad de Ingeniería, con el objetivo de evaluar alternativas tecnológicas para la producción de materiales de construcción de bajo costo que contribuyeran a mitigar el déficit habitacional. El estudio analizó la incorporación de bagazo de caña como componente en mezclas de concreto, así como innovaciones como la adición de polímeros y fibras. Los resultados indicaron la viabilidad técnica de desarrollar elementos prefabricados livianos, funcionales y económicamente accesibles, que optimizaron recursos, redujeron costos constructivos y ampliaron las posibilidades de aplicación del concreto en soluciones habitacionales. |
