La presente investigación, realizada en el valle de Quezaltenango, analizó la determinación de agrosistemas aptos para el cultivo de maíz mediante un enfoque descriptivo–diagnóstico que integró levantamientos de campo, caracterización edáfica, evaluación climática y análisis productivo. Se emplearon métodos de clasificación agroecológica y técnicas de interpretación cartográfica para identificar unidades homogéneas de uso potencial. Los resultados evidenciaron variabilidad significativa en textura, fertilidad y disponibilidad hídrica, permitiendo delimitar agrosistemas con diferente aptitud productiva. Asimismo, se establecieron zonas con condiciones óptimas para manejo intensivo y áreas que requieren prácticas de conservación, ofreciendo una base técnica para la planificación agrícola regional. |
