La presente investigación se realizó en la Unidad de Riego Nica, ubicada en el oriente de Guatemala, con el objetivo de proponer alternativas de desarrollo agrícola sostenibles. Se empleó una metodología descriptiva y participativa, que incluyó entrevistas a productores, análisis de suelos, registros de producción y evaluación de sistemas de riego existentes. Los resultados mostraron que las principales limitaciones fueron el uso ineficiente del agua, la baja diversificación de cultivos y la falta de asistencia técnica. Se determinó que la implementación de sistemas de riego tecnificado, junto con la introducción de cultivos de alto valor comercial y prácticas de conservación de suelos, representó una alternativa viable para mejorar la productividad y sostenibilidad agrícola. |
