La presente investigación se realizó en el Parcelamiento La Máquina, Guatemala, con el objetivo de determinar la época crítica de competencia entre el maíz y las malezas bajo sus condiciones ecológicas. Se utilizó una metodología experimental que incluyó distintos tratamientos de desyerbe para evaluar rendimientos, costos y la relación beneficio/costo. Los resultados permitieron identificar el momento óptimo para el control de malezas, logrando mejorar la eficiencia del cultivo y su rentabilidad. Además, se registraron las principales especies de malezas presentes, aportando información básica para futuras prácticas agronómicas que incrementen la productividad del maíz en la región. |
