| Summary, etc | Este trabajo se realizó en 1989 en el parcelamiento la Alameda, Chimaltenango en el proyecto de Mini-riego instalado por el Ministerio de Agricultura, por medio de DIGESA (Dirección General de Servicio Agrícolas) en lo concerniente a la parte técnica y en el aspecto financiero fue a través de BANDESA (Banco Nacional de Desarrollo Agrícola) quien canalizo los fondos proporcionado por AID a través de un fideicomiso, para la realización de proyectos en beneficio del desarrollo agrícola. El proyecto surgió a raíz de la iniciativa del gobierno en su plan de los 500 días, que obedeció a los intereses del tratado del libre comercio La Cuenca del Caribe suscrita entre Guatemala y los Estados Unidos, y el fin era diversificar la agricultura de los pequeños productores, en hortalizas y legumbre para abastecer el mercado estadounidense donde ellos contaron con un programa para solucionar o garantizar la seguridad alimentaria de su sociedad., que aquejaba la necesidad de este tipo de producto. El trabajo de investigación, se basó sobre pruebas de medición en el campo en parcelas tipos, en la operación del sistema de riego en cuanto a su eficiencia de distribución y aplicación del riego, esto al inicio del proyecto cuando el beneficiario hizo uso y manejo del mismo, además se realizó una encuesta, sondeo y observación con los agricultores, para visualizar cualitativamente el impacto que tuvo su forma de desarrollo como agricultor beneficiario del riego. |
