La presente investigación se desarrolló en el Parcelamiento La Máquina, en la Costa Sur de Guatemala, donde el maíz constituye el cultivo básico de mayor importancia alimentaria, pero con rendimientos limitados por el ataque de plagas, especialmente el gusano cogollero (Spodoptera frugiperda). La metodología consistió en evaluar cuatro insecticidas con dos intervalos de aplicación, incluyendo un testigo químico para establecer comparaciones. Los objetivos fueron: a) determinar la efectividad de los insecticidas en el control del gusano cogollero y su impacto en el rendimiento, y b) aportar conocimientos sobre su relación con la calidad del maíz. Los resultados permitieron orientar estrategias de manejo más eficientes. |
