La presente investigación se realizó en Guatemala con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto del regulador de crecimiento Cycocel en la producción intensiva de tomate de ensalada (Lycopersicum esculentum Muls.) bajo condiciones de invernadero. El estudio respondió a la necesidad de incrementar los rendimientos hortícolas mediante técnicas modernas como fertilización, podas y uso de reguladores de crecimiento. Se comparó el desarrollo vegetativo y el rendimiento medido en libras, considerando que el tomate es uno de los cultivos de mayor importancia económica y dietética en el país. Los resultados evidenciaron que el Cycocel contribuyó a aumentar la producción y a reducir el crecimiento vegetativo, constituyendo una alternativa viable para mejorar la rentabilidad del cultivo en sistemas intensivos. |
