La presente investigación se realizó en Guatemala en 1973, con el propósito de analizar la importancia socioeconómica del cultivo de maíz en los parcelamientos agrarios, particularmente en Nueva Concepción, donde este grano representó el 97% del área sembrada con granos básicos y ocupó el 93% de los cultivos anuales. Se aplicó un estudio comparativo entre agricultores con asistencia institucional y aquellos sin apoyo, utilizando el procedimiento estadístico de prueba entre medias para evaluar rendimientos e ingresos netos. Los resultados permitieron identificar que la productividad y el nivel de ingresos dependieron directamente del uso de tecnología agrícola y de los componentes internos de cada unidad de producción. |
