La presente investigación se realizó en la Franja Transversal del Norte de Guatemala, específicamente en los parcelamientos de Fray Bartolomé de las Casas, municipio de Cahabón, y Raxuhá, municipio de Chisec, en el departamento de Alta Verapaz, con el objetivo de analizar las formas de colonización y transformación agraria. Se utilizó una metodología descriptiva para evaluar la distribución de tierras y el aprovechamiento de los recursos locales. Los resultados mostraron que la ausencia de criterios técnicos en la adjudicación de parcelas, el minifundio, la falta de asistencia técnica y crediticia, así como las limitaciones de infraestructura y comercialización, ocasionaron un deficiente desarrollo agrícola y agravaron los problemas de producción y tenencia de la tierra. |
