La presente investigación se llevó a cabo en Guatemala con el propósito de mejorar el rendimiento del frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), cultivo básico en la dieta nacional, mediante alternativas al uso de fertilizantes nitrogenados. Se aplicó el método científico experimental, analizando la aplicación foliar de carbohidratos en forma de azúcares para prolongar la actividad de bacterias nitrificantes del género Rhizobium, cuya función se interrumpe antes de la floración. Los resultados mostraron que esta práctica constituye una opción económica y accesible para pequeños agricultores, al reducir la dependencia de fertilizantes nitrogenados de alto costo y favorecer una producción más sostenible. |
