La presente investigación se desarrolló en el Nor-Oriente de Guatemala con el propósito de analizar la organización de las cooperativas agrícolas, los canales y márgenes de comercialización de hortalizas, y proponer lineamientos para su mejora. Se utilizó un enfoque descriptivo, revisando antecedentes del cooperativismo en el país y recopilando información directa de las cooperativas de la región. Los resultados evidenciaron que, pese a su potencial para fortalecer a pequeños agricultores mediante ayuda mutua y administración democrática, las cooperativas locales operaban con alto empirismo, carencia de asesoría técnica, escaso acceso a crédito y limitada capacitación. Esta situación generó inestabilidad y debilidad estructural, afectando la eficiencia en la comercialización. El estudio concluyó que fortalecer la asistencia técnica, el financiamiento y la educación cooperativa es clave para optimizar el proceso productivo y de comercialización, contribuyendo al desarrollo económico del sector agrícola familiar en la región. |
