| Summary, etc | La presente investigación se realizó en el municipio de San Pedro Sacatepéquez, en las comunidades de la aldea Buena Vista, San Pedro Sacatepéquez, dentro del área protegida Reserva Forestal Protectora de Manantiales Cordillera Alux -RFPMCA-, la información recopilada, a través del diagnóstico evidenció que la disminución en la masa forestal de esta área se debe principalmente a la demanda de leña a nivel domiciliar y se abastecen de ella por medio de la recolección en terrenos propios o baldíos. La investigación determinó que la especie más utilizada y preferida es el Quercus brachystachys Benth (encino negro) y se consume una cantidad total de leña de 5,174.4 m3 al año en la aldea Buena Vista; el consumo de leña es de 2.11 m3 por habitante por año, y que la forma más habitual de la obtención de leña es la compra a vendedores ambulantes en producto de leña rajada. Las especies alternas son Pinus pseudostrobus Lindl. (pino), Alnus jorullensis Kunth (Ilamo o aliso) y Cupressus lusitánica Miller (ciprés). |
