| Summary, etc | El presente trabajo de investigación se realizó en la Aldea Chirijox, Municipio de Santa Catarina Ixtahuacán del departamento Sololá, como parte del convenio suscrito entre el Ministerio de Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (MARN) y la Facultad de Agronomía, la investigación se enfocó en mejorar la eficiencia de la producción del cultivo de arveja dulce mediante la implementación y evaluación de la tecnología de diferentes tipos de acolchado plástico y biológico sobre la retención de humedad y el rendimiento. Se utilizó un diseño experimental en bloques completamente al azar, en el cual se evaluaron cuatro tratamientos con cuatro repeticiones haciendo un total de 16 bloques. Los resultados indican que con el uso de los diferentes tipos de acolchado se obtuvo un incremento de 31.94 % de retención de humedad con rendimiento de 10,658 kg/ha el tratamiento pasto heno, esto atribuido al mejor aprovechamiento de fertilizante y el contenido de humedad, así también al efecto amortiguador de la temperatura producido por el acolchado pasto heno, en comparación con el testigo (no tiene ningún tipo de acolchado, sistema tradicional) el cual obtuvo una humedad media de 26.88 % con rendimiento de 6,726 kg/ha menor a los demás tratamientos. |
